David Holt Kjorvestad, 32, of Castle Rock, Colorado, died September 16, 2010, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He is loved and will be missed by many! David was born June 11, 1978, in Redlands, California, to Wayne Gordon and Debbie Jean Kjorvestad. He grew up in Riverside, California where all his childhood memories were created. He attended Glen Avon Elementary School, Jurupa Middle School and then Jurupa Valley High School. He attended San Bernardino State College before other life pursuits took him in a different direction. His career turned towards the Telecommunication industry that his Father and one brother Joshua were employed in. Through all his work endeavors, he excelled at acquiring knowledge of the various products and applying them in the work environment. His good-hearted personality showed in all his dealings with his friends and business contacts. David was very active in all his pursuits throughout his life. Few people probably knew that he could play the piano due to the many lessons his mother made him take. He sang and danced in the Sunshine Generation song and dance group for young kids and also sang in the Honor Choir at school. He was on the Indian Hills swim team with his sisters. He picked up skateboarding with his brothers Chris and Josh. He acquired a love of golf while living in Denver. He would play whenever he could find the time. He loved the outdoors. In the winter he was snowboarding. In the summer he was off-roading with friends or family, camping, or enjoying water sports at the lake. Of course, all those who knew David knew about his love for baseball. From his toddler years throughout his life he was involved in some kind of baseball organization. He played in all the youth baseball leagues as he grew up in Riverside, CA. Some of his greatest memories were playing baseball for his High School baseball team where he excelled and made many life long friends. Later when he moved to Denver, he played softball with his brother Chris and quickly found and joined a hardball league where he once again touched people's lives and made many new friends. He helped coached his daughter Delaney when she was playing softball, and attended his son Ray's baseball and basketball games. David is survived by his parents, Wayne and Debbie; loving companion, Kelli Marie Chamberlain; his children, Delaney Kjorvestad and Raymond Garcia; Kelli's son, Gabriel Chamberlain; brothers and sisters, Christopher and Carol Kjorvestad; Joshua and Kasie Kjorvestad; Amanda and Michael Medina; Aleina and Joshua Bishop; and Lesley Kjorvestad. David is also survived by his grandparents, Helen and Stan Holt; aunt and uncle, Ranae and Randy LaVigne; uncle, Dale Kjorvestad; and many loving extended family members and friends. A Funeral Service for David will be held on Friday, September 24th, 11:00am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7471 Timberline Road, Lone Tree, Colorado 80124. A viewing will be held at the Church on Friday, from 9:30am-10:30am. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery immediatly following the service at the Church.
