Edward David "Dave" Kopser, age 72, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 due to natural causes. Dave was born on May 17, 1951 in Denver, Colorado to parents Edward J. and Edith M. (Holuba) Kopser.
Dave was raised in Denver, Colorado. At a young age, Dave developed a love for how things worked. This passion led Dave to a 34-year career at Coors Brewing Company where he worked in the Can Plant and Shop and Field Maintenance. Dave met the love of his life, Lori, while working at Coors. On September 14, 1974, Dave and Lori married at Rockland Community Church in Golden, Colorado.
One of Dave’s biggest and proudest projects was the ground-up building of his Shade Tree, a 1933 Ford Panel Truck, in the carport of his Golden home. Years later, Dave received a United States patent for a car part he designed. This product received a SEMA New Product Runner-Up award and is still used in various vehicles today. Dave’s mechanical knowledge was unparalleled, and he became a “go-to” for others in the hot rod community. Dave poured his heart and soul into his business, Golden RODtronics. Not only was RODtronics a premium supplier of parts for hot rod cars across the nation, but Dave was always thrilled to visit with like-minded individuals who could talk for hours on end about their passion for hot rods and cruising. Dave also loved spending time with family and friends and had a special place in his heart for animals.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Ed and mother, Edith. Dave is survived by his loving wife Lori; son Chad (Mindy) Kopser; grandsons Riley and Dresden Kopser and sister Kristine Zahn.
A private celebration of Dave’s life is being planned for a date in the summer of 2024. Donations in Dave’s honor may be sent to Pepper’s Senior Dog Sanctuary at www.psds.org, or to Foothills Animal Shelter at www.foothillsanimalshelter.org.
