David Elliott LaBay

October 29, 1954 — September 7, 2006

David Elliott LaBay, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother-in-law, and Friend passed away on the 7th day of September 2006 . He was born on October 29, 1954 to Elliot and Doris LaBay in the city of Denver, CO. He was raised and spent the rest of his life in the Denver metro area. On August 13, 1976 he wed the love of his life Melinda Birely. Shortly after on February 20, 1977 they welcomed their first child Shaun David. Two and a half years later they welcomed their second and final son Brandon John on August 19, 1979. David and Melinda raised the family in Denver until 1999 when both Shaun and Brandon met their wives and moved on. From there David and Melinda sold their Denver home and purchased a brand new home in Aurora, CO. They have lived in this house since the year 2000 along with David's father Elliottt. David and Melinda now somewhat on their own used this time to bask in each other's love and the sun light of Mexico. They enjoyed many vacations and outings that they had wanted to do for many years. Finally in June of 2006 they took the last and most adventurous vacation they had ever attempted. David and Melinda took their 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws, 7 grandchildren and Elliot on an amazing vacation to the Oregon coast. It was days after returning from this vacation that the family was hit with the horrible news that David had stage 4 stomach cancer. He knew this was going to be a big battle, but was willing to accept the challenge to be with those he loved and loved him for as long as possible. But despite all his strength and courage the cancer spread and eventually took him from us. He was the most incredible man to those who knew and loved him, so though he is lost he will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
