David Merritt

David Russel Merritt, age 67, died in his home in Castle Pines on February 2, 2022.  He was a graduate of Arvada West High School.  He earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and played on the university's golf team  and continued on to obtain his Master's Degree at Regis University.  Dave was an avid golfer and continued playing in amatuer senior tournaments all over Colorado.  That was his greatest passion in life.

Dave started his career as a golf professional working at Colorado Springs Country Club and the Boulder Country Club and later changed his career to the financial field where he worked at Otero Savings and Loan Association in Colorado Springs, With the demise of the savings and loan industry, Dave joined AMG Trust Bank in 1990 and was still working there until his death.

Dave is survived by his wife, Kris, two step children, Jerry Taylor (Misty) and Jordan Lorenzo (Jake) and two grandsons Cash and Greyson Lorenzo.  He is also survived by his sister, Lynn Lyons, brother, Steve Merritt (Anne), nephew Matthew Lyons (Chelsey), niece Lucy Lyons  (Jeremy Druckman), and nephew Arron Merritt.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Leora Merritt.

Celebration of Life will take place at the Meridian Golf Club House, 9742 S. Meridian Blvd., Englewood, CO  80112 at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
