David Edward Newsom, 71, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away July 22, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 26, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joseph Edward and Ila Belle Clayton Newsom.
David grew up in Springtown, Texas and fell in love with his wife, Alice while attending the University of Texas, Arlington. They moved to Colorado where they started a family and he had a career in business development and exploration in the oil and gas industry. David was adventurous, his hobbies included skiing, fly fishing, whitewater rafting and kayaking. He captured his love of nature in the beautiful oil paintings he created. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he enjoyed doing temple work with his wife of 49 years. He will be missed by many and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend.
David is survived by his loving wife, Alice; their children, Derek Newsom; Wendy (husband, Nicholas) Pryor; and Lisa Newsom; grandchildren, Ryan and Tara Newsom, and Quinton and Drake Pryor; two brothers, Dick (wife, Shirley) Newsom and Don Newsom.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, August 3rd, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5175 South Picadilly Street, Aurora, CO. 80015. A viewing will be held at the Church prior to the service, from 2:00-2:45 pm.
Burial Service on Monday, August 5th at 11 am, Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd., Centennial, Colorado 80015
