David Neil Parsons, Sr.

September 24, 1933 — April 16, 2010

Parsons, David Neil, Sr., 76, passed away April 16, 2010. Survivors include his wife Gerri; mother of his children Phyllis Parsons; children Kristie (Ernest) Varoz, Ronda (Michael) Reddy, David N. Parsons, Jr., and Dean Parsons; step children Rena Donald, Eric (Heather) Donald, and Melissa (Scott) Nelson; grandchildren Nicole Ortiz, Justice Reddy, Annette Varoz, Marcelino Varoz, and Devin Dickson; step grandchildren Zachary Donald, Ashley Whitehead, Brian Donald, Jeremy Donald, and Taylor Nelson; great grandchildren Haylee and Alyssa Ortiz, Marquise and Teliyah Varoz; and sister-in-law Joan Parsons. He was preceded in death by his mother Florence Wassom and brother Phillip. He is also survived by a large extended family and many dear friends. David was born September 24, 1933 in Wray, CO. He attended East High School in Denver, CO. He served the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an over the road driver for several of the largest freight transport companies in the country. He traveled coast to coast over millions of miles and was awarded many safety awards. He retired from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters after being a member for over 40 years. He was a steward and a business agent for Local 961. Memorial Service Friday, April 23, 11:00 am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. Donations may be made to Craig Hospital Foundation, 3425 S.
