David A Paulsen, 59, passed away July 28, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He was a long time resident in Aurora, Colorado. Dave was born December 1, 1958 in Aurora, Illinois to Richard and Barbara Paulsen. He was a loving husband of 27 years to Pamela, and devoted father to his daughter Kristina. Dave is also survived by his brother Jerry of Elgin, Il., and two sisters Cheryl (Mike) Wietlispach and Vicki (John) Wisser of Crystal Lake, Il. as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Richard, brother Ronald and sister Renee.
Dave left Illinois in the early 1980's for a summer job working for the Colorado State Forest. He fell in love with the mountains so much that he stayed. He graduated from the police academy in 1982 and worked for the Grand Junction Police Department. He soon after was hired by the Grand County Sheriffs Department until 1988 when he moved to Denver and worked for TSA at Denver International Airport. Dave then spent the rest of his life as a road supervisor with Public Transportation with TransDev.
He was a loyal sports fan of the Green Bay Packers and never missed a game. Every opportunity he had, he would take his daughter to the Avalanche and Rockies games. He was also a big fan of his daughters sports and hobbies. From volleyball to ballet to Girl Scouts. He loved the mountains, hiking and camping. In general, during his free time, Dave enjoyed doing anything that involved spending time with his family. He will truly be missed.
