David Grey Schulte was born February 18, 1943. He died April 5, 2023, at home with his family and beloved dog. He was a dedicated husband to his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly sixty years, Donna Marie Schulte (Driscoll).
Dave was a Vietnam War veteran who “talked” to pilots through Morse Code in the Air Force Security Service in Germany. He won many awards during his career as a regional sales manager for Magnavox before becoming his own boss in the insurance industry.
He was the proud father of Tim and Lisa and proud grandfather of Jessica and Lucas. His grandchildren named him “Poppy” when they were three years old. Nobody knows why but it stuck, he loved it, and they still call him Poppy.
He loved attending hundreds of Luke’s and Jessie’s baseball games, ice skating performances and golf tournaments. He never hesitated to pull over to pick up a stray dog because the dog was “one of God’s creatures.”
He is survived by his wife Donna, children Tim (Tamara) and Lisa, grandchildren Lucas and Jessica, and sisters Sheila Rehak, Pamela Thompson, and Tonya McCormick. He is missed but his family and friends will always remember him and will see him again in Heaven.
