David William Thomsen

July 18, 1932 — March 3, 2008

Much loved husband, dad, grandpa, brother-in-law and good friend. Dave took the hand of his granddaughter, Heather Martinez, and left us to join her in a place of peace and happiness. He will be greatly missed by wife Margie Thomsen, daughter Cindy Vigil and partner Betty Martinez, daughter Sheryl Patterson and partner Bruce McColl, grandson Adam Martinez and wife Rachelle, great-grandsons Zachary and Jacob Martinez, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Karen and Mike Webb and many other extended family members and friends. After spending 37 happy years as a writer/producer/director at KRMA, Channel 6, Dave retired at 62 to travel the country with Margie in their motor home. Vagabonds for years, they returned to Denver in 2000 to be with family and friends. He welcomed, at their births, each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with open arms. Grandpa Dave loved to spend time with family, especially camping with his wife and grandchildren, his cats Mary Jane and Tunsis, listening to music and playing the piano, flying small aircraft, working crossword puzzles, video poker (only one coin at a time!), Oreo cookies and milk, collecting wolf figurines and flashlights, especially his mini-miners hat light! Visitation will be held Saturday at 2 PM with services in his honor beginning at 3 PM both at Horan & McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road (just west of Holly) in Centennial, Colorado.
