David Richard Walker

November 27, 1927 — April 2, 2012

David Richard Walker was born in Buffalo, NY on November 27th, 1927 to David and Elizabeth Walker. In his youth he lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They later moved to Chicago where he graduated from the University of Illinois. He was drafted in the Korean War where he served and was honorably discharged. He finally found his was to Sioux Falls, SD where he met and married his wife, Marcene. They were married on February 17th, 1962. In attendance were their friends, family, and 32"" of snow! After the wedding they moved to Denver, CO where they started a family. David enjoyed playing tennis, bowling, square dancing, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. He always enjoyed singing and was a member of the German choir, which included tours in Europe. Being in the Church choir was always a passion of his too. David worked in sales with U.S. Vitamins and Pinkerton for most of his career. After his retirement, he became a Massage Therapist and earned his certification in Albuquerque, NM. He later taught Massage Therapy classes, and was employed with the YMCA of Denver as a masseur in addition to his own practice. Grateful for having shared his life is his wife, Marcene, of 50 years, 2 daughters and their spouses; Sandra & Mike Morrison, Cheryl & Ernest Antonio, 4 grandchildren: Meghan, Tyler, Rain & Autumn. Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 9, 2012, 1:00pm at Bear Creek Church, 3101 Souht Kipling Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80227.
