David "Dave" Jugert

July 9, 1951 — December 9, 2020

Dave Jugert, of Denver Colorado passed away on December 9th, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Jason (Brittany), Ryan and Shaun; grandsons, Breck and Ryker; brother, Rodney (Cheryl) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Dave was born in Denver on July 9th in 1951 to Rudolph and Lydia Jugert. Dave was the youngest of 5 boys. (Hess, Mel, Rod and Dick) Dave grew up in Globeville Colorado and graduated from North High School in 1969.

Soon after graduating Dave met Kathy in 1970, his wife, on a weekend night at The Scotchman. Dave drove a 1970 Chevelle SS and had a love for muscle cars, which he passed onto his 3 boys. The Scotchman became one of the couple’s favorite places to go. Dave and Kathy dated for nearly 9 years before being married on June 23rd of 1979 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in North Denver.

During those 9 years of courtship Dave was drafted during Vietnam and served in the US Army for nearly 2 years, from March of 1971 to December of 1972.

Dave went to work for The USPS in 1984, he worked there for just over 36 years and was set to retire at the end of 2020. Dave enjoyed his work at The USPS and made many lifelong friends during his time there.

Dave enjoyed the simpler things in life. He loved to spend time with his family; you could always count on him to share some old expression for a good laugh. He enjoyed watching The Broncos and Rockies, playing horseshoes or cornhole and just sitting on the porch talking, always while enjoying a cold beer! The 4th of July was one of Dave’s favorite Holidays, he loved lighting fireworks with his boys and all his nieces and nephews.

Due to current COVID restrictions, Dave’s family will be holding a private family celebration of life.
