Davis Randolph Jagoe, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 75. He graduated from Owensboro Kentucky High School in 1966. While in high school he enjoyed being a drum major in their marching band. After high school Davis attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky earning a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in geology. While there he met and married Paulette Sue Hill, upon their graduation in 1970.
Mr. Jagoe then served in the armed forces and was stationed in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany for three years. He was awarded the “Pershing Professional” certificate for his performance as a survey computer and operations specialist. In addition, he was also awarded “The Army Commendation Medal” for meritorious service in the 56th field artillery brigade. Upon returning home from his service, Davis attended Rolla School of Mines, in Rolla, Missouri pursuing a master’s degree.
Davis was employed by a variety of different mining companies as a geologist and a land manager. During his career he encountered many acquaintances of the same professional field and continued to keep in touch with many of them.
He is survived by his wife Paulette, their daughter, Andrea, of Golden, Colorado, their son, Davis II, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, three grandchildren, a sister, Sydney Jean Purwin of Falls of Rough, Kentucky, and many nieces and cousins, along with many friends.
Mr. Jagoe was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Irene.
Interment with Army honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver, Colorado on Friday April 19, 2024 at 1:00pm.
