Davis D. Moberly, 81, Denver, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his Denver residence. A native of Independence, MO, he was the son to the late John and Nan C. Moberly.

Davis graduated from Sherman HS in Sherman, Texas. He attended Southern Methodist University on a track scholarship and furthered his education in International Studies at University of Leiden in Holland. As an officer in the Army, Davis joined the Modern Military Pentathlon team. While training for the Olympics, he worked at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and later began a lifelong career in the Financial Services industry.

Davis was an avid supporter of many organizations in the Dallas area, one of which was the Tyler Cup. The Tyler Cup was an athletic event held at the Cooper Clinic and was sponsored by the Tyler Corporation. Davis participated in the first Tyler Cup; its purpose was to assist corporations with health and well being in the work place. Davis ran the cup for 29 years and won one race while running barefoot. He managed to run through his 75th year at a 7+ minute mile pace.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Annie Schwietz Moberly; his children: son, John C. Moberly of Dallas TX, and daughter Kristine Moberly Lemert of Amarillo, TX. His grandchildren: Rex, Davis and Kohl, and his dear sister Barbara Moberly from Cameron Park, CA.
