Dean Elsworth Sewell

Dean Elsworth Sewell, a kind and gentle soul, passed peacefully on February 12, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado. Born on February 7, 1962, in Yuma, Colorado, Dean embodied love and kindness throughout his life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

With a dedication to his career, Dean worked as an accountant for five years before working customer service and retail. His professional journey showcased not only his talents but also his unwavering commitment to helping others, reflecting the caring nature that endeared him to so many.

Dean's educational accomplishments began at Colorado Mountain College, where he graduated with an associates degree. This foundational step in his life paved the way for the exemplary career that followed, enriched by the relationships he formed along the way.

A cherished memory in Dean’s life is his beautiful marriage to Daryl Gallegos on April 26, 2017. Their love story began when they met on April 25, 1989—an extraordinary bond that witnessed countless shared experiences. Together, they created memories that will forever be cherished, including the unforgettable experience of seeing Celine Dion perform before her retirement.

Dean's passions extended beyond his professional life; he had a fervent love for photography, crafts, gardening, and decorating. Each hobby reflected his creativity and brought him joy, which also radiated to those around him. His nurturing spirit transformed every gathering into a memorable occasion, filled with laughter and love.

He is survived by his loving husband, Daryl; his mother, Betty Jo Sewell; his brothers, Brian Sewell and wife Christine, and Kevin Sewell and wife Dee-Ann; and his aunt and uncle, Tom and Margaret Spelling. The warmth and affection within their family will continue to carry Dean's memory forward.

Dean is preceded in death by his father, Howard Dean Sewell, and his grandmother, Iva Lee Sewell. They welcomed him with open arms as he departed, and their legacy of love will live on through his surviving family.

In honoring Dean's life, a Celebration of Life service will be held on February 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation in Southeast Denver/Aurora, located at 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014.

Dean Elsworth Sewell will be remembered not just for his achievements and interests but for the profound love he gave and received throughout his life. His gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of many, providing comfort and inspiration for all who loved him.
