Debra "Debbe" Cantrell, age 68, passed away on February 16, 2020 in Aurora, Colorado after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Debbe was born in Rapid City, South Dakota to Albert and Leona Veilleux. She was a part of an Air Force family, so they moved around and lived in many different states, including Alaska, which was one of Debbe's favorites. Ultimately, Debbe's family lived in Aurora, Colorado and she graduated from Hinkley High School.
Debbe's first marriage was to Gary Francis. Together, they had two children, Joshua Francis and Nikki Frances Rodgers, who she loved dearly. Debbe later married her current husband, Phil Cantrell. It was always in her heart to love Phil's family like her own.
Debbe was an incredibly loving wife to Phil Cantrell and together they enjoyed life to the fullest. They spent their time motorcycling, traveling in their motorhome and camping at their cabin. Trips to Lake Powell were especially high on Debbe's list. Debbe always looked forward to cooking and hosting family events. She was the type of person who could easily make friends with just about anyone.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her dog Abby. Debbe worked for KM concessions at the Denver Zoo, giving her the opportunity to see all of the animals on a daily basis.
Debbe is survived by her husband, Phillip Cantrell; children, Joshua Francis (Leslie) and Nikki Rodgers (Jason); grandchildren: Kaelene Francis, Trace Walters, William Walters and Ian Rodgers; great-grandchild, Kynslea Francis; brother, Dennis Veilleux, nephews: Ben Veilleux, Tim Veilleux, Dan Veilleux and Mike Rosales; and niece, Alex Rosales.
Debbe is preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Albert Veilleux; brother, David Veilleux and sister, Denise Rosales.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Debbe's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
