Deloras Helen Bott (aka Lolo), age 87, passed peacefully on May 6, 2017 at The Gardens on Quail after a feisty battle with a heart/lung disease. Deloras was born on April 21, 1930 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of John and Mary Helen Clark. One of seven kids, Deloras thoroughly enjoyed learning, reading, and her yard. She highly valued education particularly reading/writing and was a stickler for proper grammar! Due to her family situation, she was unable to finish high school, but in her mid-thirties she received her GED and started her journey toward her life-long desire to be a teacher. She later earned her college diploma and became an elementary school teacher. Deloras taught in the Jefferson County Public School system for 20+ years; hundreds of kids benefited from her wonderful ability to teach youngsters how to read and write. In 1951, Deloras married Ron Bott, the love of her life. Once he graduated college and got a teaching job in Denver Public Schools they began in earnest to build a family. Together they built two homes in Arvada, Colorado, the second of which she lived in for over 50 years until her passing. Ron passed away in 1991. Deloras is a long-standing member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Arvada, Colorado. Deloras is survived by her sister, Pat Gobster (Costa Mesa, CA); children, Glenn Bott and wife Brenda, Nancy Roberts and husband Tim, Laura Fincken and husband Tom, and Dan Bott; grandchildren, Holly Roberts and Julio Perez-Galano, Bridgette Roberts and husband Mike Bunn, Alycia Bott and Jarrett Bott; great-grandson, Sawyer Bunn; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; as well as, many lifelong friends.
