Delores Reeves

March 11, 1922 — March 29, 2013

Delores Reeves, age 91, died on the morning of March 29, 2013. She is survived by her two sons, Ron Reeves (Suellen) of Littleton, Colorado, and Greg Reeves (Joan) of Midland, Texas; by her four grandchildren: Molly Kennedy (Kurt) of Lakewood, Colorado, David Reeves (Allyson) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Kristine Powers (David) of Aurora, Colorado, and Jennifer Frank (Quentin) of Aurora, Colorado; and by her eight great-grandchildren: Jack and Peyton Reeves, Grace and Aimee Kennedy, Victoria and Katherine Powers, and Taryn and Noah Frank. Delores is also survived by Centralia relatives Wilma Kell, Sue Doolen and Cathy Parrish. Delores Maxine Foutch was born in Centralia, Illinois, in 1922. She graduated from Centralia High School where she played French horn in the band and was elected May Queen. In 1941 she eloped to marry John Pershing Reeves (Persh) in St. Charles, Missouri. They lived in Centralia until 1946 when they moved to La Junta, Colorado, and then to Denver in connection with Persh's employment with Shell Oil Company. Subsequent company transfers took them to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1960 and to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1966. Persh died in 1989. Delores remained in New Orleans and was active in PEO, her bridge club, and working as a receptionist in a doctor's office. In the late 1960s while attending a Baptist church on the West bank of New Orleans, Delores embraced Jesus Christ as her personal savior and received forgiveness for her sins. She served God by singing in the choir at Calvary Baptist Church. Shortly before Hurricane Katrina, in 2005, Delores, then 83 years of age, moved to Littleton, Colorado. In her new home state, she enjoyed her last years surrounded by her loving family. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, Illinois.
