Delores “Dee” Jean (Kimball) Wagner, 83, of Englewood, CO was a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, CO.
Dee was born in Ottowa, KS on August 30,1940 to Eunice and Laurence Kimball. She moved to Culbertson, NE in 1953 when her mother married Mr. Martin Ostendorf, the man she called Dad. Dee was the youngest of five children. Her siblings, Dorothy (Cole), Robert, Marlin, and Cecil Kimball, have all preceded her in death.
Delores and Richard “Dick” Wagner were married on June 21,1958 in Culbertson, NE. The young couple began their life in McCook, NE before relocating to Grand Island, NE. They later moved to Colorado Springs, CO, where they lived and worked, starting a business which helped them raise their family. Dee remained in Colorado Springs for many years following the death of her husband.
Dee was a devoted mother to her children, but she also managed a professional life of her own. She held jobs as a school lunch worker and a restaurant employee before joining her husband in the family-owned business WW Restaurant Equipment (formerly WM Restaurant Equipment). Dee joined WW in 1982 as the office manager. The couple worked side-by-side until Dick’s death in 2004. Dick and Dee were married for 46 years.
Following health issues in 2012, Dee moved to Englewood, CO to be closer to her support system, but she thrived in Colorado Springs for 49 years before that.
Dee and Dick had five children: Judy (Barry) Hall, Debra (Jim) White, Jerry Wagner, Brad (Lisa) Wagner, Allen (Lisa) Wagner. Debbie left a hole in the family when she died unexpectedly in 1998. Dee will be missed by her children and their spouses, son-in-law James White, daughter-in-law Juanita (Chris) Dickerman, her 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and even by a few great-great-grandchildren.
Dee valued her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, and she was always ready for a game night. She held strong Christian values and continually grew in her faith. Her family is comforted in knowing Dee is home with her Lord.
Dee’s life will be remembered and honored on July 12, 2024 at 10:30 am at Calvary Chapel Cherry Creek, followed by a luncheon hosted by the family. (6782 S Potomac St Suite 900, Centennial, CO 80112) Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome.
Dee will be interred with her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs with a private family burial on July 15, 2024.
