Dena L. Winters

Dena Lynn Winters, 45, of Littleton, Colorado peacefully passed away, in the presence of her family, on March 31, 2015, after a long battle with breast cancer. Dena was born on April 21, 1969 in Lamar, Colorado. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, and spent her childhood in Lamar. Dena and Scott were married February 6, 1993 and moved to Denver, Colorado. She obtained her degree in Mortuary Science at Arapahoe Community College. She spent over twenty-three years, in various positions, helping others find peace and comfort in the funeral industry. She enjoyed spending free time at the lake, on the family boat and surrounded by loved ones. She was a loving wife as well as a proud mother of three beautiful children. Her zest for life was contagious, and will continue in death, as it did in life, to touch the lives of her family and numerous friends. Dena leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband and best friend, W. Scott Winters, children, Cole Winters, Logan Winters, Bailey Winters; her mother, Katherine Deegan (Dan); siblings, John Zimmerman, Jason Greskoviak (Kelly), Joey Greskoviak (Tara), Justin Cole (Nicole); uncle, John McShane (Ruby); in-laws, Phil and Roberta Winters, Mitch and Christy Winters; also many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Grover Cleveland Bishop and Mary Jane McShane and her uncle, Hank Bishop. Services for Dena will be graciously overseen by her longtime employer Horan & McConaty: Visitation from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 with a Vigil Service and Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7 PM at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. A reception, featuring some of Dena's favorites, will follow the Rosary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish, located at 6673 West Chatfield Avenue, Littleton, Colorado, with a reception following the Mass. Committal will be Saturday, March 27, 2021, 1pm, Rocky Mountain Memorial Park, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado.
