Dennis Buck, age 73, of Centennial, Colorado passed away March 24, 2016. Dennis Eugene Buck was born on October 5, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa. He took his last breath on earth and graduated to Heaven on March 24, 2016. He grew up with his parents and younger sister in Iowa and, as a senior in high school, he realized his need for a Savior and gave his heart to the Lord. Math piqued Dennis's interest from an early age and he pursued that interest at Iowa State University until he graduated with a Masters degree in Mathematics. After graduating, he was offered a job at Martin Marietta near Denver, Colorado, which he had to postpone when he was drafted into the army. He spent seven months and twenty-eight days in the army before he was given a medical discharge due to his poor eyesight. Martin Marietta maintained their interest in him and honored their earlier job offer. Dennis moved to Colorado, and over his 35 year career at Martin and Martin Lockheed, he worked on projects such as the Skylab space station, the tethered satellite, Titan IV, and Atlas V, in addition to several other Defense Systems projects. After moving to Colorado in 1967, Dennis started attending church and getting involved in some singles groups. One night in 1968, Dennis attended a progressive dinner with the college group at Calvary Temple, where a girl named Kathie Rhodig was assigned to the same car as Dennis. He called her later the next week, and their relationship flourished. They got married on August 9th, 1969. The couple worked together to design and build a house in Littleton, CO that would become their family home for over forty years. Dennis and Kathie added Stephanie, and then Keith, to their family, as well. Dennis loved to watch football and other sports. He played ping-pong often, and he would sprint into and out of every store when running errands. He sang in church choirs, duets, solos and especially loved men's quartets. He was involved at both Denver First Assembly of God and Grace Community Church throughout his adult life in Colorado. Dennis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathie, his daughter Stephanie (Gene) Barlow of Florida, son Keith (Amanda) Buck of Indiana, grandchildren Alex, Emma, Eden, and Sarai Buck, his mother Eleanor Buck of Washington, his sister Carolyn (Carl) Fritzges of Washington, several cousins, aunts, nieces, and nephews, and a multitude of friends. Preceded in death by his father Wilfred Buck, Uncle Frank Nelson, and Cousin Kristi Nelson. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at South Fellowship Church, 6560 South Broadway, Littleton, Colorado. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Public Visitation to precede service at Ten Thirty in the Morning.
