Dennis Cross

January 9, 1942 — February 28, 2024

Dennis Leon Cross, 82, of Castle Pines, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, with his family by his side.  He was born to the late Donald and Cora Cross on January 9, 1942, in Junction City, Kansas.  Dennis graduated from Junction City High School in 1960 and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1964.  After graduating college Dennis became a high school trades teacher before moving into the printing industry where he worked for International Paper for thirty years.  


Dennis married Barbara Elaine Page on November 22, 1962.  Dennis and Barbara moved between Kansas and Missouri before settling in Denver, Colorado in 1973 where he lived for the past 51 years.  Dennis is preceded in death by his wife Barbara of 59 years.  His four children survive him:  Doug (Christina) Cross of Phoenix, Arizona; Lisa (David) Nieslanik of Portland, Oregon; Laura (Scot) Quick of Denver, Colorado; and Lydia (Lance) Patterson of Denver, Colorado.  Dennis is survived by nine grandchildren:  Deric (Alicia), Courtney (Nick), Cameron (Torri), Page (Andrew), Elisa, Mahaila, Shalie, Millie and Mallory.  Dennis is survived by six great-grandchildren:  Brooklyn, Kylie, Hailie, Jaylyn, Tre, and Henny.  Dennis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved playing golf, watching sports, particularly the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and spending time with his family and friends.  


A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9905 Foothills Canyon Blvd, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, 80129.  Burial will take place at Welcome Cemetery in Geary County, Kansas at a later date.
