Dennis, better known as 'Denny,' or Pappa Denny' to his grandchildren, loved children and animals. He also was an avid football and diehard Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. He could often be found glued to the television on many an autumn afternoon as he cheered or jeered his beloved Cornhuskers. Although he had a long career with the federal government, Denny was most proud of the work that he did for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (F.E.M.A.) which spanned the last 15 years of his career and included disasters such as the California fires in 1990, Hurricane Andrew in 1992, terrorist attacks of 9-11 and most recently, Hurricane Katrina. Denny touched many people throughout his life with his honest, and sometimes intense sincerity. He genuinely cared for all kinds of people from different ethnicities and walks of life. People knew they could always turn to Denny for support and answers in times of need. As a friend, husband, father and grandfather, Dennis Joseph Daly, 'Denny' will be dearly missed.
