Dear ""Denny"" died of heart failure at her Denver home on June 16, 2012, in the presence of her beloved sister, Kathleen, and loyal German shepherd, Shalimar. Denyse was a breast cancer survivor. She had a creative spirit, and loved gardening, painting, making jewelry, and singing. She was an avid animal lover who doted on her dogs, cats and tropical fish. Her many friends will remember her boisterous laugh, her enthusiasm, generous nature, love of parties and belief in faeries. She was born on Sept. 27, 1939, in Washington, D.C. She spent most of her childhood in Philadelphia, where she graduated from Notre Dame High School. She attended St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia and worked for CBS Records there. In 1972, Denyse and Kathleen moved to Denver, where Denyse took a job with The Denver Post. She was an executive secretary there until her retirement in 2002. Denyse was pre-deceased by her parents, Robert and Kathleen. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Albertus; brother, Robert Albertus of Franklin, N.C., and his wife, Mary Jane; brother, Joseph Albertus of Philadelphia and his wife, Mary; nieces, Mary Bridget Fitzpatrick of Denver and Kristen Albertus of St. Louis; nephews, Joseph Albertus of Philadelphia and William Albertus of New Town Square, Pa.; godson, Joseph O'Toole of Fort Lauderdale; dear friends, Geary and Andy Anderson; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
