Deserai Murphy

Deserai (Desi) Rose Murphy was born in Parker, CO on April 20, 2010. Desi passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2022, at the young age of 12 years old.

In Desi’s short life, she developed a love for horses. Any chance Desi had to ride a horse she did. She had a special relationship with a horse she rode every Friday morning named Noodles. Although Desi was shy and often quiet, once she felt comfortable around you, her beautiful smile and sense of humor would shine brightly. Deserai was a wonderful daughter, granddaughter, big sister, niece, cousin, friend and student. In Desi’s free time when she wasn’t riding noodles, you would often find her making many different crafts, including her Dino masks. Desi spent countless hours perfecting them. Desi’s favorite foods were spaghetti with a mountain of parmesan cheese, or chicken nuggets with ranch and loved making her family laugh as she built towers with the couch cushions and would then hurdle over them. Desi was loved by many extended family members, friends and teachers. She was truly a beautiful girl inside and out.

Deserai is survived by her mother Cara Winterbottom, father David Murphy and sister Sienna Cothran. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother Mary Ann (Melcher) Winterbottom, her great grandfather Kenneth Melcher, paternal grandparents, Patricia and Jim Murphy, uncles and aunts Kenneth & Jennifer (Rogers)

Winterbottom, Eric & Candyce (Martin) Winterbottom, and James & Jessica (Mitchell) Winterbottom. Cousins, Matthew, Connor, Elizabeth, Payten, Ashlyn, Michaela, Melonie and Bella. Desi is also survived by many other great aunts, uncles and cousins

Deserai is proceeded in death by her grandfather Eugene (Buz) Winterbottom and great grandmother Patricia (London) Melcher.

Celebration Of Life for Desi

Desi’s favorite colors were turquoise and purple.  Bright color clothes are welcome.
