Devon Curtis Arnold

November 18, 1987 — February 4, 2010

Devon Curtis Arnold, age 22 of Centennial Colorado, and a senior at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins CO, passed away on Feb. 4, 2010. Devon is survived by his parents, Thomas and Beth Arnold, his two brothers, Sean and Todd Arnold, grandparents Clint and Donna Gaylord of Tucson AZ, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Devon grew up in Aurora and Centennial CO and attended Cherry Creek High School, graduating in 2006. At CSU, he was a Mechanical Engineering major and was a founding member of CSU's chapter of ATO (Alpha Tao Omega), serving as the chapter's Treasurer in 2009. An avid fly fisherman, soccer fan, basketball fan, and snowboarder, Devon loved the outdoors and sports. Devon was actively involved in many community service programs around Ft. Collins through his fraternity and school, including Save The Poudre, Special Olympics, a rape victims organization, and others. Devon dearly loved his family, friends and ATO brothers, and was loved by all who had the privilege to know him. Devon was known widely as that guy to whom people turned to diffuse a situation, lend a helping hand, or offer a shoulder to cry on. His hilarious sense of humor and boundless love of life made him a joy to be with, and he will be greatly missed. In an exceedingly kind gesture, CSU is considering awarding Devon his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering posthumously. A Memorial Service for Devon will be held on Wednesday February 10, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Terrace Gardens at Dove Valley, 13065 E. Briarwood Ave., Centennial CO 80112. An additional memorial service in Ft. Collins is being planned by his friends and ATO brothers at CSU. That service will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Lory Student Center Ballroom. The family suggests that any charitable donations be made to the Devon Arnold Memorial Scholarship Fund at Colorado State University, established to benefit future engineering students. Memorial contributions should be made out to CSU Foundation with a note on the check about Devon Arnold and sent to: CSU Foundation, Devon Arnold Memorial Scholarship Fund at 510 University Services Center at 601 Howes Street, Ft. Collins, CO 80523-7115. Please share condolences at HoranCares.com.
