DeWayne Aaron Willardsen

August 22, 1937 — September 12, 2016

DeWayne Aaron Willardsen, 79, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away September 12, 2016. He has touched so many during his life and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. DeWayne was born August 22, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to DeWayne Martin and Coralyn Uffens Willardsen. DeWayne spent his formative years in Salt Lake City, Utah, graduating from The University of Utah following his service in the Army. He met and married the love of his life, Nola Jones, on August 7, 1958. They had 3 sons, Brook, Blake and Chris. Denver became home in 1966 with a transfer with Proctor & Gamble. Soon after, he began his successful real estate career which lasted 42 years. He was one of the founding partners of Kentwood Company. He had a passion for real estate which was only exceeded by his love for, and being surrounded by, his family. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in many capacities. He served in various community associations and committees throughout Littleton. DeWayne battled dementia for many years, but it is very fitting he passed away at the time of the LDS Denver Temple's 30th anniversary, located in Littleton, CO. DeWayne assisted the church in finding the location for the Denver Temple many years ago. DeWayne's greatest joy came from family vacations with Hawaii being his - and the family's – absolute favorite. He enjoyed golf and sharing that sport with family and friends. He never hesitated to express his love to his family and others. His generosity was unmatched and he had a heart of gold. His greatest gift to his family was his unwavering devotion to his wife. DeWayne is survived by his beloved wife, Nola; sons, Brook (wife, Lanée), Blake (wife, Starlene), and Chris; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Gayle (husband, Jerry) and Karen (husband, Bruce). Preceded in death by his parents. A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 17th, from 9:00am-10:30am, with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 910 West Ridge Road, Littleton, CO 80120. Burial will be at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, 80121, immediately following the service.
