Dewey Ira Dutton Jr. June 5, 1923-October 31, 2015 Dewey Dutton Jr., local Denver Restaurateur, passed away this Saturday at the age of 92 in the comfort of his home he built in '65. Dewey lived a life filled with passion, faith, kindness, generosity, and humor. Graduating from North High School, class of '41, Dewey enlisted in the Army and became stationed at Camp Kilmer in New Jersey. He then married his high school sweetheart, Josephine, who he had three beautiful children with and recently celebrated their 72nd anniversary. After leaving the service, Dewey found that travel and food sparked his passion and knew the restaurant world was where he needed to be. He incorporated flavors and recipes from around the world to bring North Denver options that no one could compete with; Tops Coffee Shop, Port 'O Entrée, Bashful Bull, and the Gemini. Dewey, never one to take anything for granted, but as a blessing, strived to give back in any capacity possible. He played an active role in the community and the church throughout his life. Grateful for the sincere and genuine friends that he encountered and surrounded him throughout the years. His love for his family was unmeasurable. Dewey's kind and patient manner was inspired by his loving family, as he knew he always had his family by his side. Visitation Tuesday, 4-6 PM, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S.
