Diana Georgis

Diana Rose Georgis, age 77 passed away on December 30, 2022 after a prolonged illness. She was born in Lusk, WY to OJ and Carmen Berta.

She grew up in Rock Springs, WY and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1963. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in special education from the University of Wyoming in 1967.

In 1966, she married Les Georgis and moved to Arlington, Texas in 1967.  She taught in Arlington schools for 35 years. Her passion was teaching reading to first grade students.

She is the mother of Tony Georgis and Mandy Georgis Trolinger. She was an amazing mother by celebrating holidays to the fullest and donating a kidney to Mandy in 1992.

Diana and Les retired and moved to Lakewood, CO in 2002. She enjoyed her summers in Pinedale, Wyoming. She loved spending time in the mountains and trail riding in the Wind Rivers and Upper Green River. She enjoyed the Wyoming wildlife, especially the moose that frequently visited her backyard.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time with her four grandchildren. The holidays were very special to her as she loved decorating, making advent calendars for the grandchildren, baking Italian Christmas cookies and her annual Easter egg hunt.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Les Georgis, their children Tony Georgis of Golden, CO and Mandy Trolinger of Highlands Ranch, CO and her four grandchildren Jasper and Emmett Georgis and Brandon and Addison Trolinger. She is also survived by two sisters, Susan Berta, Wendy Sines and three nephews of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet Horn and niece Shelia Ker.

It was her wish for burial services to be private for her immediate family in Pinedale, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, Diana wished donations be made to Renal Support Network ( www.rsnhope.org ) or Cat Care Society of Lakewood, CO ( www.catcaresociety.org ).
