Diane Marie Adams, age 82, died in her home in Aurora on September 24, 2024. Diane was born on March 9, 1942 to Clifford Trotman and Clementine (Tilley) Trotman in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Diane was the third of six children, 4 of whom preceded her in death: Gertrude (Trudy) Fullwood , Ralph (Butch) Trotman, Constance (Connie) Diggs, Leslie Trotman.
Diane is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Randolph Adams of Aurora, her sister Deborah (Debbie) Trotman of Boulder, her children, Karen Rodriguez (Pablo) and Luana Adams of Aurora, and Jerry Adams (Jane) of Englewood. Grandchildren include Tiera, Adam, Simon, Vonia, Hannah, Ethan, Makeedra, Ileah, Brittney, Paula and Gary; multiple great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
From a young age, Diane was raised by her foster parents Ralph Campbell and Viola (Key) Campbell along with 3 of her brothers and sisters. Diane was a graduate of Girls Latin School in Dorchester, Massachusetts. She went on to complete a year of college, and spent 2 years as a service member in the United States Army. Diane was honorably discharged in August of 1963. Diane and Jerry met in 1960 and were married on May 21, 1970. They became residents of Aurora, Colorado immediately following.
Diane worked for many years as an accountant in the oil and gas industry and for several years as a finance clerk for the University of Colorado Health System. She enjoyed card games like Pinochle and Canasta, and she was an avid bowler for more than 40 years, traveling around the country for various tournaments. Diane’s other hobbies included crocheting, reading and completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Diane doted on her grandchildren and was so proud of each and every one.
Throughout the years, Diane made many friends and opened her home to fellow Colorado transplants for holidays and various other occasions. Diane’s Boston accent, sense of humor, warm welcoming demeanor and friendly smile endeared her to many; but especially to her family and close friends Roberta Franklin Hoke of Boston and Mary Helen Blanford of Parker.
A memorial service will take place at Horan & McConaty in Aurora on Tuesday, October 15 at 11am. Inurnment to follow at 1:30pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery with a repast to follow at the Adams family residence. Flowers can be sent to Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora CO 80014.
