Dolores Lori Byrne

February 10, 1932 — March 18, 2013

Dolores ""Lori"" Byrne was born February 10th, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland to Marion D. and William A. Meyer. She was raised on Virginia Avenue and graduated from Mount St. Agnes High School. Her family then moved out to Owings Mills where she worked in the family business – the WAMDAM Chicken Farm. She met 2LT John ""Pat"" Byrne at a St. Patrick's Day dance at the St. Ambrose Parish. After a whirlwind, one week courtship, they were engaged. Five months later, they were married on August 11th, 1951 at the same church where they met. She had four sons – John (1953), David (1955), Richard ""Rick"" (1956) and Kevin (1961). She was Pat's constant wife and companion throughout his 28 year military career. Along the way, she raised her family in countless army bases and lived all over the U.S. as well as in Japan, England and Germany. The epitome of an Army spouse, she constantly entertained and cared for family, friends and anyone needing love and support. After Pat's retirement from the Army, she had a successful career as a real estate broker in the Denver Metro area, working with a great group of friends at Russ Wehner Realty. She also enjoyed shaping the lives of her 11 grandchildren – Ryan, Christopher (and Lea Ann), Kelly (and Jason Mayer), Devin (and Jana), Andrew, Colin, Brendan, Jeffrey, Ashleigh, Courtney, and Ian – and great-grandchild Donovan (Chris and Lea Ann). She also had another great-grandchild on the way through Devin and Jana. She and Pat were married for 62 wonderful years, raising a family and traveling and experiencing the world together. She was passionate about everything she did and had a tremendous zest for life. She was much loved by family and too many friends to count. She touched so many people's lives and will be greatly missed by all. Please share memories of Dolores and condolences with her family by signing the online guestbook below.
