Dolores Mae (Beattie) Jordan, age 89-known to her many friends as ""Dee""-a resident of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and of Wind Crest Retirement Community, passed away on December 9, 2019 of natural causes.
Dee was born August 15, 1930 in York, PA, to James Beattie and Mabel (Daron) Beattie, and graduated with the class of 1948 from William Penn Senior High School. She was employed by the York School District before joining her foster family-the Newlins-in Richmond, VA.
It was in Richmond where she met and married her Marine Corps husband, Bob. The couple were married for 64 years and were the proud parents of daughter Lori (born 1957) and son Brett (born 1960). The couple travelled a marriage journey that took them to Bloomington, IN; Peoria, IL; York, PA; Lisle, IL; Franklin, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Richmond, VA; and Highlands Ranch, CO.
In all these communities, Dee was quick to make lifelong friends by sending cards, making telephone calls, and visits. Dee became an avid bridge player and enjoyed the game for the rest of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Littleton, where she was active in the Senior Lunch Program and The Open Door Circle.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Jordan of Highlands Ranch Colorado; her daughter, Lori of Denver Colorado; her son, Brett and his wife, Sheena, along with their daughter, Kylie-all in Irvine, California; and by her brother, Jim Beattie of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dee is also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy, and her brother-in-law, Lou Mesavage of Medina, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty funeral home 5303 E County Line Road, Centennial 80122. Burial will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
