Dolores J. Cateora McWilliams 92, of Wheat Ridge, passed away at home on May 24, 2018 after a very long illness. She was a native to Colorado, born in Colorado Springs on April 1, 1926. Dolores is now embraced in the loving arms of her husband Charles Leslie McWilliams, Jr., to whom she wed on December 30, 1946; a marriage that lasted for nearly 62 years. Dolores now also joins her parents Jean Francois Cateora and Josephine M. DeBrouwer Cateora. She is survived by her brother Joseph Cateora, sister Jeanne Cateora Chavez, and sister-in-law Charlene Gilbert. She was the loving mother to John (Debby) McWilliams of Conifer, Paul McWilliams of Golden, Diane McWilliams of Wheat Ridge, and Susan (Todd) McWilliams Kubica of Little Falls, NY. She had seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Dolores (and Charlie) are also survived by their loving little Dachshund, Becca who misses both of them very much. Dolores and her husband lived as a Coast Guard family for 23 years. She and her children followed Charlie to San Diego, CA, the island of Guam, St. Petersburg, FL, Bermuda, and Port Angeles, WA before they settled back in Colorado in 1965. Dolores was her familyâs historian, she could remember the names and goings-on of her ancestors and living family members through many generations. Her family stories captivated her family and friends and will be sadly missed. She was an avid reader, dog lover, observer of wildlife, gardener, and homemaker. Her home was her castle and her door was always open to welcome in family, friends, and neighbors. Special thanks are extended to Home Instead Senior Care and Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care.
