Dolores Virginia Sivori passed away peacefully on February 2, 2017, lovingly surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Daniel J. Sivori. Mrs. Sivori was born on May 7, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Anna (Gatz) Konczal. She was raised in the Bay Ridge area and attended Prospect Heights High School. After graduation, she attended secretarial school and worked at Oakite Products, Inc. in Manhattan. Dolores was very active with a roller skating club, The Rhythm Rollers, where she performed in roller dance competitions. It was through skating that she met and fell in love with her husband, Dan. After they married in 1952, they eventually settled in Cheshire in 1963. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Ann Chadderton (Brian) of Portland, Maine; Diane Snyder (Rex) of Arvada, Colorado and Daniel Sivori (Ann) of Northfield, Vermont; her grandchildren, Kelly, Kimberly, Andrew, Daniel, Kristin and Celeste; and her two great grandchildren, Xavier and Owen. As a Cheshire resident for 50 years, Dolores was very involved in the Cheshire community. She was an active parishioner at St. Thomas Beckett Church, sang in the Cheshire Community Chorus for over 20 years, ruled as Queen of a local Red Hat Society, was involved in local Republican party campaigns and voter registrations, and enjoyed activities and trips with the Senior Center. For several years, she was employed by the Cheshire Housing Authority as a secretary and Chairman of the Board. Dolores had a love for fine jewelry, clothes, traveling, singing/dancing, cooking, baking, entertaining, and she could shop until she dropped! Her holiday decorations were awe inspiring and spectacular. She thoroughly enjoyed the many family vacations around the country, especially summers in New Hampshire at Lake Sunapee. Dolores and Dan were part of a very tight knit group of Cheshire friends. These friends remained the cornerstone of life and support for Dolores, which endured until the day of her passing. Danny, Diane and Ann were blessed to have grown up in a loving and happy home where their mother embraced each individually and unconditionally. She created that same loving environment for her grandchildren who cherish such memories as the hidden stash of orange tic tacs and her enormous collection of elephants. Her contagious laugh, sweet smile, sense of style, words of wisdom and feisty sense of humor will be missed every moment of every day. A celebration of life for Dolores Sivori will be scheduled and held in Cheshire this Spring.
