Domenic Anthony Passantino, 87, Denver, passed away August 9, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolly, daughter Joan (Don) Barsness, son Dennis (Mary), all of Denver, and daughter Joyce of Washington, PA. He was born to Paul and Anna Passantino in Sicily, Italy on January 16, 1920, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1929, settling in Washington, PA. He graduated from Washington High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Pacific Theater receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, American Campaign Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years, and upon retirement in 1984, he and his wife moved to Denver. He was a member of Church of the Risen Christ, Silverado Club, American Legion and National Association of Letter Carriers. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Samuel and sister Maria. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 South Monaco Parkway. Burial will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
