Don Elmer Boyle

May 11, 1937 — February 24, 2019

Don Elmer Boyle 81, long-time resident of Littleton and Highlands Ranch, CO passed away February 24, 2019.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, John and Zona Boyle of Lincoln, NE and his brother Ted of Carbonale, IL. He is survived by Doris Boyle, his loving wife of 59 years and his son Brad who has turned 50.

Don grew up in Lincoln, NE and went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for his BA, and then Colorado State University for his MA in Education.

After teaching at a small school in Beatrice, NE, he moved to Littleton Public Schools to open Newton Junior High in 1962. At Newton, Don taught Industrial Arts and served as their Media Specialist where he stayed until 1988. He then transferred to Arapahoe High School to be their Media Specialist until retiring in 1992.

The St. Andrew church community was very important to him. Doris and Don remember going to Peabody Elementary and opening of the site on University Blvd. Don served as a church usher for many years.

Don was a master furniture woodworker, filling both their and Brad's homes with his pieces. He also enjoyed photography, computer graphics design, and loved to travel.

After retiring, Don moved from Littleton to Highlands Ranch in 1992 where he died at home due to complications of Parkinson's disease.

In honor of Don, a Memorial Service will be held 1:00PM, Thursday, March 28, 2019 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church (9203 S University Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126).

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
