Don, 86, of Westminster, Colorado passed away February 24, 2013. Don will best remembered for service to his family, community and assisting in keeping the Denver Broncos in Denver. Don, a born restaurateur, owned several restaurants in the north metro area. He established the ""Via Venice"" restaurant next to the former Bronco practice field. In 1967, Don helped the Broncos stay in Denver by assisting in a group to enlarge old Mile High Stadium. Don will also be remembered for raising millions of dollars for Community Reach Center (previously known as Adams County Mental Health Center) by creating and directing the annual ""Mary Ciancio Golf Tournament"". Preceded in death by his wife, Jo; and siblings, Carol Lucas and Frank Ciancio, Jr., Don is survived by his daughter, Debra van de Taeye (husband, Larry Widhelm); son, Donald F. Ciancio (wife, Jennifer Ciancio); grandchildren, Jeffrey Leavitt, Matthew Ciancio, Josephine Ciancio, Jennifer Ciancio; great grandchildren, Caleb Leavitt and Makana Leavitt; and brother, Gene Ciancio (wife, Lisa Hoffman-Ciancio). Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 6-8 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton, Colorado. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 28, 2013, 11 AM, Assumption Catholic Church, 2361 East 78th Avenue, Welby, Colorado. Private Entombment will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
