Dona B Kneifl

Dona Belle Teare Kneifl was born June 10 1921 in Atkinson, Nebraska and passed away on November 25, 2016 in Arvada, Colorado. Dona attended high school at Hartington High School and later college at Wayne State University She married Donald Phillip Kneifl on July 25 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. Donald and Dona moved from St. Louis to San Diego during the war then moved back to Nebraska. After a brief stay in Nebraska they moved to Estes Park Colorado. After living in Estes they decided to make a move to Lakewood and opened up the Wheat Ridge Dairy, which they operated for 10 years. After that, Dona worked in banking for 8 years. Following that, she took a job with Jefferson County schools, from which she ultimately retired. Dona had a great eye for business and she could find diamonds in the rough. Dona and her husband bought a rental property in Denver, which at the time, was in a very bad part of town. Dona always said that the home was in a, ""very pretty part of town"" and soon others saw the same thing. It is now one of the top neighborhoods that families want to move to. Dona also looked at a piece of property in Grand Lake, that again nobody wanted, but between her and her husband and a lot of family members they turned the piece of land into a great mountain home. Dona was a great organizer and taught her family well. She taught how important it was to always think ahead and to see that what you do today, may effect what tomorrow looks like. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Kneifl, her son Donald Kneifl and her daughter JoAnn Bennett. She is survived by her son Jim and his wife LaDa and son in law Steve Bennett; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with another one to arrive this December! Dona also tap danced until she was in her nineties. Even when she was in a wheel chair she would continue to dance and try to teach others how to tap dance! She's dancing in heaven now. She will be missed very much by her family and friends. A Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 beginning at 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Horan & McConaty, 7577 West 80th Avenue Arvada, Colorado A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr Street, Arvada, Colorado.
