Donald Wayne Ashbaugh

Donald Wayne Ashbuagh, a resident of Conifer and Evergreen for the past 34 years, passed away August 31, 2011, in Denver. He was raised in McKeesport, PA, and served tours with the U.S. Army in both Germany and Ethiopia. He attended college in California and Pennsylvania before moving to Colorado in 1974. Don was happily married to his wife, Sue, for 40 years. He worked as a land surveyor for the Bureau of Land Management, with 32 years service. Don enjoyed racing his Corvettes and Porsche with his family, mostly his son Chris, son-in-law Chuck and close family friend Nick Schingeck. He was an amazing husband, Dad and best Papa ever. A memorial honor guard service will be held at 10am Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Contact the family for information about the celebration of Don's life at a later date. He was preceded in death by his father, R. Earl Ashbaugh, his mother, Beatrice (Crawford) Ashbaugh; sister Barbara Jean Ashbaugh; and brother Jack R. Ashbaugh. He is survived by his wife, Sue A. Ashbaugh; daughter Jennifer (Chuck) Hawley; son Christopher (Erika) Ashbaugh; grandson Ethan Hawley; and brother Richard E. (Janice) Ashbaugh.
