Donald Forbes Bullock, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Don was born on November 2, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the youngest of three boys. His mother often said that he was the start of the Great Depression. After high school Don attended Michigan State University where he met the love of his life, Doris Elma Young. They were married on July 26, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Fort Lee, Virginia where Don was stationed as he had joined the Army in 1951. After his Army service Don convinced Doris to move to his home town where he entered the very new Computer Industry. He worked with computers until he decided things were just moving too fast and he would not be able to keep up the pace. Retirement gave him time to play some golf and do some serious fishing which he greatly enjoyed. He also started painting and turned out some beautiful scenes of places he had visited. Don had a deep faith in God and served in many positions at the various churches in the many cities that the family lived in. Back in those days companies moved people around a lot, so Don would forge ahead and the family would follow later. He had a very nice smile and many people have mentioned how they will miss that smile. He loved his family very very much and was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Don also appreciated a glass of good red wine. If all the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were around he would sometimes appreciate two glasses! Don was preceded in death by his parents, Earle and Dorothy (Bulliss) Bullock, his brother, Roger, and infant daughter, Cheryll. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris; sons Scott (Julie), and Keith(Amy); daughters Linda Chappell (Gene), Dawn Golden (Jeff), Susan Wertz (Chip), Kathy Emerson (Bruce). A brother, Ken Bullock; twelve grandchildren, Stephanie Bailey (Jeff), Tiffany Gilley (Jason), Eric Golden, Jamie Golden, Andrew Wertz, Matt Wertz, Sarah Bullock, Jackson Bullock, Brooke Briner, Ryan Bullock, Melissa Emerson, Douglas Emerson, and two great grandchildren, Knox Bailey and Chappell Bailey. The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Denver Hospice for their support in his final days. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Denver Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held in Don's memory at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Central Christian Church, 3690 Cherry Creek S. Drive, Denver.
