Donald F. Hastings, Former CEO and Welding Industry Maverick, Dies at 88 Donald F. Hastings passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Hastings is best known for his extraordinary 44-year career at the Lincoln Electric Company, a $2+ billion arc welding manufacturing company based in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Harvard Business School, Hastings began his career at Lincoln as a sales trainee and rose to become CEO and Chairman of the Board. Hastings chronicled his extraordinary career in his business memoir Behind the Mask: Embrace Risk and DARE to Be Better available at www.amazon.com. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, three daughters, Leslie, Nancy and Jane Hastings, Jane's partner Cindy White, and two granddaughters, Allison Hastings-Wottowa and Gillian Egan.
