Donald Edward “Iguo” Holihan, 89, of Denver Colorado, passed away May 7th in his home of natural causes.
Donald was born May 15th, 1933, to Edward and Thelma Holihan in Denver, Colorado. After Don graduated from South High School in 1951, he went to work for Mountain States Telegraph and Telephone as a Plant Wireman.
Don joined the Army in 1954, stationed in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, he was a Personnel Specialist. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was Honorably Discharged in 1956.
Don then went to the University of Colorado and became a lifelong Buffaloes fan. After graduation he went to work for Blinder Robinson as a Stock Broker. He continued his education at the Wharton School of Business and he then went to work at Boettcher & Company becoming a Partner.
Don married Doris June Smith in 1961 and they had one daughter, Kellie Lynn Colbert. Kellie’s favorite memory of her father was his expression to her, “You’ve got this Kelso”.
Don always said he was blessed with a great life and had done everything he wanted to, from living in the Cayman Islands, scuba diving, to skiing the Rockies. He never met a stranger and always had a smile with those ocean blue eyes.
Don is predeceased by Edward, Thelma and Doris. He is survived by Kellie Colbert(Daughter), Bishop James Conley(Nephew), Susan Atkins(Niece), Daniel Atkins(Nephew in law), Kyle Atkins(Great Nephew), Kaitlyn Breeden(Great Niece), Robert Breeden(Great Nephew in law), James Breeden(Great Great Nephew) and Louie Breeden(Great Great Nephew).
Services will be held at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, on Parker Road on June 28th at 12:30pm, with Military Service at Fort Logan at 2:30pm.
