Donald Jack Gray, 77, of Aurora, Colorado passed away Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. He was born in Salina, Kansas on October 18th 1947 to Helen (Drake) and Jack Gray. After High School graduation in 1965 he joined the Army and was sent overseas to Thailand to work as a communications expert with FBI clearance. In May of 1969 he met Lauren Arwood while at a dancing bar called “The Store”, you could say that it was love at first sight. Don would drive down from Fort Carson in Colorado Springs every night to take Lauren on a date and if he was on duty he would send another brother-in-arms to take Lauren out. They were married October 4th of 1969 and soon after Don took a job at the Denver Water Board. He would later retire with not only 41 years under his belt but also created so many friendships that he still had up until his death.
Don loved old cars from even a young age and up until his death collected a few Chevy Novas. He believed that cars were stories and wanted each car that crossed his path to tell a story that could only bring them back to the day they were assembled. This is also where Don met many of his friends and loved those cherished trips that he took a couple times a year with a Chevy Novy in tow.
Don is survived by his wife of 55 years,Lauren; daughters: Carrie Parker and Adrianne Pollock. 5 grandchildren: Emma Parker, Zack Parker, Makayla Pollock, Kylie Pollock, and Caylynn Pollock. Brother in law: Carl Jones and one niece: Kristina Moulden. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debra.
