Donald M. Karr was born in Harmon, Illinois on Nov. 26, 1912. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1936. That same year he moved to Denver to work for Mountain Bell (a predecessor of Qwest). He worked for the company for forty-one plus years. In 1943 Donald married Regina Tynan who was the mother of all his children. She preceded him in death as did their two sons, Thomas and Kevin. Donald is survived by his present beloved wife, Alice, daughters Anne Day (John), Pasadena, TX, Jane Fortin (Robert, dec.), Rosemont, PA, Mary Beth Karr, Boston, MA, Sheila Karr (Richard Sackett), New York, NY, Margaret Karr (James Martin), Boulder, CO, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Karr (Kevin, dec.), Boulder, CO, fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. At the time of his death, Donald was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Pax Christi USA and the 12:30 Bridge Club. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, 3/23/10 at 11am at St. James Catholic Church, 1320 Newport Street. A Memorial Mass for Donald Karr will be held in Bloomer, Wisconsin at a later date.
