Donald H. Obeiter

Donald H. Obeiter, age 71, passed away at his home in Littleton, Colorado on December 7, 2007 after several years of illness. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 51 years; children Laura Williams, David Obeiter and Charles Obeiter; grandchildren Osric Williams and Duncan Williams; and his sister Beverly Friewald. Donald was born on March 28, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. He married Linda Mata on October 15, 1956 while stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. For much of his career, he worked as a computer programmer for Mountain Bell (later named Quest) from which he retired. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #103 and a life member of the American Chess Federation. Donald served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and has been laid to rest with full military honors with his fellow soldiers at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
