Donald Petersen Iii "Duk!E"

Donald F. (DJ) Petersen III, 31, passed away  in Aurora, Colorado on June 3, 2022.

Born March 22, 1991 in Denver, Colorado, DJ lived all of his life in the Denver metropolitan area, but mostly in Aurora.  His passion was writing beats and lyrics, and sharing his music online for others to enjoy.  He regularly performed his musical creations for his friends, family, and coworkers, which he enjoyed beyond words.  DJ dedicated most of his time to this passion, but also was an avid skier, outdoorsman, environmentalist, and reader.  He loved studying new things and was passionate about saving our planet.  Additionally, he spent much of his time with his beloved dog, Peaches, who he adored and cherished.

DJ is survived by his parents, Don Petersen of Aurora and Cristie Haney of Centennial.  He is also survived by his siblings, McKenna and Keegan Wagner of Centennial.  He leaves behind grandparents, Sonja, Sue and Lynn, step-father Jamie, numerous aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, and many, many cousins, all of whom loved him dearly.  His best friends were his cousins Jimmy and Kevin, both he considered as brothers.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald F. Petersen.

Memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave. in Aurora.  Family and friends are welcome to stay for the light snack reception immediately following the service.

Dress code :  be comfortable, be green (his favorite color), be ducky.
