Donald Robinson, age 83, passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 26, 2016. He was born on March 25, 1932 in Silverton, Colorado to Cleeburn Robinson and Hazel McCluer Robinson. Donald was a star basketball player at Silverton High School, earning an athletic scholarship to Regis College in Denver. Following graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he trained to become an air traffic controller. After his military service Donald spent the next 30 years working for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller out of the Longmont, Colorado center. Donald was an avid runner and traveled extensively throughout the USA to compete in road races, even into his seventies. He was preceded in death by his son Don Robinson, his loving wife of more than 50 years, Jean Robinson and both his parents. He is survived by his brother Cleeburn Robinson (Betty); Brother in law Gerald Swanson (Nancy); daughters Julie Robinson, Mary Dowling (Jim); son Mike Robinson (Cheryl); grandsons Casey Dowling, Christopher Dowling, Lorenzo Robinson, Jason Robinson, Jonathon Robinson; granddaughters Christina Goodman (Bryan), Madeline Robinson; great granddaughter Ashtyn Robinson; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church located at 3141 West 96th Avenue, Westminster on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 10:30am.
