Donald P. Snider

Donald P. Snider, 84, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away November 25, 2018.

Don was born March 24, 1934, in Denver, Colorado and raised on a farm in the Firestone area. After graduating high school, Don served over six years in the US Navy. His military experience fielded a career in law enforcement in the Denver-metro area where he may be best remembered for working at Stapleton in the K-9 unit with his German Shepherd ""Rebel,"" as well as, in the Radio Room. He married Beverly DeAngelis and to this union, daughters, Dawn and Tina were born. They later divorced but stayed in touch. Don enjoyed telling stories, spending time at the Senior Center and traveling.

Don is survived by his daughters, Dawn (John) Daschke and Tina (Dave) Jackson; grandchildren, Brittainy (John Christensen) Snider, Kayla Barela, Dominick Barela and Angelo Barela; great grandchildren, Ashley Daily, Nathaniel Paquet, Shevy Sotelo, Khaleesi Sotelo, Lyrik Sotelo, Destiny Barela and Alize Barela. John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine Snider and brother, John (Bev) Snider.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 2:00 – 7:00 PM, followed by Recitation of the Rosary, beginning at 7:00 PM, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, in Arvada, Colorado 80003.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, 10:00 AM, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, in Arvada, Colorado 80003. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don’s name to the American Lung Association, 5600 Greenwood Plaza Boulevard, #100, Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111.
