Donald L. ""Don"" Stone

Donald Lee Stone, 81, passed away August 24, 2018.

Born to Donald and Margery Stone in Salina, Kansas.

Served proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard out of Gulfport, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisiana. Worked professionally as an Engineer with a number of entities including NASA, StorageTek, Ball Aerospace and General Electric.

Was a lifelong golfer and sports fan and enjoyed home, family, travel and pups, Mollie and Maggie.

Preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and ""second mother"", Peggy Britt; his first wife and mother of his children, Deanna Stone.

Survived by his wife, Sandra Stone; sons, Brian Stone and Michael Stone; grandchildren, Jade Stone and Grant Stone; and great grandson, Andre Stone. Also survived by his stepsons, Kirk (Donni) Scheffel and Cory (Shannon) Scheffel; grandson, Quinn Scheffel; and sister, Beth True.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 9-10am followed by Vigil Service at 10am at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton. Military Honors to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 12:15PM.

Reception to follow at Don's home in Arvada.
