Donald ""Joe"" Williams

May 30, 1952 — April 9, 2016

Donald ""Joe"" Williams, entered into eternal life on April 9, 2016 at the Denver Hospice Care Center, he was 63 years young. Joe was born in Goodland, KS on May 30, 1952. As the son of an Air Force Master Sargent, the family frequently moved around the country until they settled in Kansas. Joe was a star athlete at Goodland High School, where he played football and ran track. During his service in the Army, he developed a passion for aviation. He then attended Colorado AeroTech and received a certificate in Aero Mechanics. After years of traveling and working on private jets, Joe transitioned into aviation safety with the FAA, where he built his lifelong career. After settling in Colorado, he was introduced to the love of his life, Kathy. They were happily married for 24 years. A true outdoors-man, Joe spent most of his free time fishing and hunting. He also loved training his hunting dogs, the Broncos and restoring old trucks. Joe is survived by his loving wife Kathy Williams and five children: Justin Williams, of Florence, KY, Travis Williams, of Aurora, CO, Mary Williams of Aurora, CO, Bridget Schierburg of Englewood, CO and Michelle Schierburg of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his grandson River Williams of Florence, KY and his siblings John Williams, of Cody, WY and LifeHasMeaning Williams, of Lopez Island, WA. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Esther Williams. A Rosary will be held on Monday, April 18th, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church 2375 E. Arizona Ave. Denver, CO, at 7 PM. Internment services and rendering of honors will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, at Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO. Family and Guests are to meet at staging Area ""B"" for the escorted procession to the pavilion, the service will then begin promptly at 11:15. Memorial contributions are welcome through the GoFundMe website. Any Contributions will help with remaining medical bills and for Joe's family. We will also be donating a portion of the money to the Cancer Research Foundation.
