Donna Fleming

Donna Jean Robinson Fleming passed away peacefully April 8, 2023 in Golden, Colorado. She was born November 20, 1936 to Vern Robinson and Freida (Stott) Robinson in Keosauqua Iowa.

Donna graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1954. She received her Associates degree from Iowa State Teachers College and went on to teach 4th grade in Bennet, Iowa where she met her future husband.

On June 14, 1959, she married Wilbur (Will) Fleming. Donna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In the early 60's she moved to Arvada, Colorado with her husband and young girls. She loved camping with her family, vacations to Iowa and, after retirement, travelling around the country with Will in their motor home.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting, making everything from clothes and quilts to hats, scarves, and socks for her family and friends. Donna, with her husband, supported their daughters and grandsons in everything they did from volunteering as road marshals on Bike MS rides to attending and participating in her grandsons’ marching band endeavors. Her big smile and laugh were appreciated by many.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Will; daughters, Sheryl Fleming and Lee Ann Fleming Cottingham; grandsons, Christopher (Jesse) Lujano-Cottingham and Kyle (Kassidi) Cottingham; great grandsons, Kris, Andrew, and Quinton; brothers, Jim (Sharon) Robinson, Jerry Robinson; sister, Judy (Larry) Burke as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on May 5, 2023, at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Avenue, (at Wadsworth Blvd.), Arvada, CO 80003. A reception will immediately follow in the reception center. The family requests that guests dress casually for services.
